The birth of Family Story

A personal loss that became a way to preserve what matters.
David Mezey, Executive Producer at Alpha Omega Video launched Family Story due to his own personal experience.
David’s parents escaped Hungary after the 1956 revolution was crushed by Soviet forces. As refugees, they eventually reached Australia, where they built a new life.
“After my dad passed away, I realised I had missed my chance to record his story and I regretted that an important part of my family’s story had been lost,” David said.
“I later prioritised interviewing my mum, and when I visited Hungary a year after that, I was able to retrace the route my parents took during their escape.”
That experience inspired David to develop a service to help other families capture their own memories, experiences and histories for future generations.
David believes a professionally recorded family story can become a lasting legacy for children, grandchildren and future generations.
“Creating a family legacy video is a powerful way to ensure people’s stories remain alive for generations to come,” he said.
